Summer Use of Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg Law

Both continuing students and spring 2017 graduates can continue to access Westlaw, Lexis Advance, and Bloomberg. Here is a breakdown of what, if anything, you need to do to make that happen:

Westlaw

  • Continuing students may continue to access Westlaw for non-commercial purposes through the summer, and unlike last year you do not need to take any steps for this to be effective. Permissible uses include coursework, summer research assistant assignments, law journal research, and other academic work.
  • Graduating students can extend access through Westlaw’s Grad Elite program for 6 months. You should receive an email about it, and you can find more information here: https://lawschool.westlaw.com/registration/gradelite.aspx/. If you have further questions, please contact our Westlaw rep, Tami Carson.

Lexis Advance

  • Continuing students may use Lexis Advance for any purpose, including work, throughout the summer.
  • Graduating students will have full access to Lexis Advance through December 31, 2017. If you have further questions, please contact our Lexis rep, Carter Isham.

Bloomberg Law

  • Continuing students may use Bloomberg Law for any purpose, including work, throughout the summer.
  • Graduating students will have unrestricted access to Bloomberg Law for 6 months after graduation.

If you have any questions about this, please contact [email protected].
